How Can a Painful Lump On The Shin Be Treated?

On Nov 30 i discovered a painful lump on my shin after having worked out in the yard that afternoon. I started having a lot of pain in that lower leg to ankle. On Dec. 14 while in an urgent care I showed it to a doctor and was diagnosed with erythema nodosom and put on prednisone, which I had an allergic reaction on the 5th day of treatment. The pain continued and I finally had an ultra sound done the 2nd week of January which at that time showed fluid and was dismissed by my doctor. I am still having pain to the extent I at times cannot bear weight on the leg, and/or limp with heavy pain. What would you suggest would be my next step?

Hello,

It could be a local inflammatory swelling. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
